- The Captain Jack Helles Bock is equal parts Pale and Vienna malts with Munich malt for added malt flavor. Cluster and Mittfrüh hops for bittering to balance the malt sweetness.

Adriane Hodges and her husband own Bold Republic Brewing in Belton, Texas. They wanted to share a project they are working on to help fund the National Desert Storm War Memorial planned for the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Jonathan Ross Edwards, Adriane’s father, “Captain Jack”, was born on an air force base in Bitburg, German on April 20, 1956. While flying a medical evacuation on February 2, 1991, Captain Jack was killed at the age of 34 years old.
Her father was a life-long beer lover and he especially liked German lagers. Jack even home-brewed from time to time! Adriane's father was charming and always made everyone laugh; he was the life of the party. He also was the best role model and father for his family.
Jack didn't have to go to the Golf War, he chose to. He was on reserves when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. He explained to his daughter that he had to go because, "Integrity is always doing what's right, even when no one is looking." Jack was killed when his helicopter crashed on February 2, 1991. He was the first officer killed in the Gulf War buried at Arlington National Cemetery; it was highly publicized. To honor her father, Adriane and her husband decided to brew a beer and call it "Captain Jack" to then donate 100% of the profits to the National Desert Storm War Memorial. Jack's passing and ultimate sacrifice has shaped who Adriane has become in so many ways. His legacy and name will forever live on and be a reminder of what it truly means to be selfless.
